NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with section 114 of the Financial Services and
Markets Act 2000 that, on 17 December 2004, an order was made by Her Majesty’s High
Court of Justice under section 112(1) of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000
sanctioning a Scheme providing for the transfer to the above named Eagle Star Life
Assurance Company Limited (“Eagle Star”), now known as Zurich Assurance Ltd, of the
policies comprised in the long term business carried on by Allied Dunbar Assurance plc
(“Allied Dunbar”), Zurich Assurance plc (“Zurich”), now known as Zurich Assurance
2004 plc, City of London Insurance Company Limited (“COL”) and Pilot Assurance Company
Limited (“Pilot”). The transfer pursuant to the Scheme became effective on 1 January
2005.
Where, in relation to any policy comprised in the business transferred pursuant to the
Scheme, the State of the commitment is an EEA State (as such expressions are defined for
the purposes of the Scheme) other than the United Kingdom and the policyholder has a right
to cancel the policy as a result of the Scheme under the law of the EEA State of the
commitment, then that right may be exercised during the period of [21 days] following the
date of publication of this notice (or where applicable, during such longer period as may
be allowed under the law of the EEA State of the commitment).
